One Day, or Day One? Push yourself outside your comfort zone!
Here is our road-map to create a good goal and work toward reaching it:
1. Identify your life goals
For some, it can be difficult to identify a good life goal to work towards. Whether it is to rebuild a relationship with family or friends, change of career, make a “journey” for personal growth, build wealth or other, one thing is certain:
If you do not have good answers as to why you want to achieve your goal, it becomes really difficult to reach it. In a situation where you struggle to set a good and important goal for what to achieve, try to set your goal to “find the things and goal that are important to ME”
“The reasons to fight for your life goal”.
The process of identifying the reasons why you want to achieve your goal is crucial for your own argumentation to the effort required. Working towards your goal will be challenging and at times frustrating, the answers to the question of why help you going.
Don’t call it a dream, call it a plan. The good thing about plans is that they have a starting and ending point. You should clearly state when you start your work towards your goal and by what time you want to reach your goal.
“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take, the time will pass anyway”. Earl Nightingale”
Be stubborn about your goals and flexible about your methods. When you have decided on a goal, it is important that you find the way you find most suitable. The HOW is about all the things that must be fulfilled to acquire your goal with the specific tasks you must do. It is not necessary to find answers to everything at once, but you should do enough to point out the direction.
Remember, just because the road is less traveled doesn’t mean it won’t work for you.
Small victories lead to great success. Milestones play the important role of breaking the larger task down to more doable parts. You use them to see whether you are on the path to the goal or need adjustments. Are you on track or not?
Milestones should be connected to the tasks you have specified so that you can see how far along the path you have come at any given time. You get what you work for, not what you wish for.
Make decisions based on facts. Look at the plan and you progress. Are there changes to be made? Are you following the road map you set, and if not – Why? Adjust your plan along the way.
A little progress every day add up to great results. Moving towards your goal is a strengthening task. You push yourself outside your comfort zone and thus it is important to see that you maintain the progress you planned for.
