What is a time thief?

Can you tell the difference between your time thieves and your productive time? What is a time thief?

I try to measure my time spent with the time management tool in NoLimit-app because I want to see the difference between my perceived usage of time and real facts. That is where I realize that I spend more time on social media and in front of Netflix than what I, in my plan, wanted. But is that time thieves?

We try to optimize our lives and schedules,  but we often forget to add time to relax. Modern life is more fast-paced than ever, and we’ve all got a lot of day to day demands on our time. From work stresses, parental responsibilities, financial worries and important calendar dates, we all need to time to break and rest! Proper relaxation is key to being able to function effectively, no matter what you spend your days doing.

Here are some reasons why it’s important to relax:

  1. It helps keep you focused.
  2. It can be useful in tackling problems.
  3. It can re-energize you for the next challenge.

Find your routine

When you read about successful leaders, many have created their own routines. Our daily routines can make a huge difference to how healthy, happy and productive we are. In the daily routines, you must find time to recover and boost your energy levels.

Check out this video about Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the United States.

With the time management tool, I re-evaluate my routines and week schedule every sunday evening before the next week. One important thing is to remember to keep focus on the goals that I have, and work with the planning with the goals in mind. Sometimes I need to get back to the goal and edit or add tasks, that is what facts that I get from the tool does. With facts you can make better desicions.

Like the TQM father W. Edwards Demming said: – In good we trust; all others bring data.
