Fail to reach your goals
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” – Thomas A. Edison
These words are powerful, to fail is a way to find out what actually will work to reach goals. When you work towards your goals, some of your steps will fail. But that is alright, you will learn and create new activities or adjust your goal. This means continuous improvement and is a key success factor in the theories NoLimit uses.
For me, the most important thing is that you do something, actions that are meant to make your life better. If you decide to do nothing, you will never improve your situation. And we all have things to improve, that is a life fact. No one is perfect and no life is perfect.
My last failure was in one of the goals I´m working on. I have a goal to spend more time with my children and by the end of 2017, I had an activity that I still have not completed. I am supposed to change my work situation and get home earlier to be able to help my kids with their homework. But I have not been able to complete the task and change my habit or the workload.
The most important question now is WHY and HOW. Why is this task not completed.? Are there other things that I need to finish first? What are my next steps? Of course, I feel a bit sad about the fact that I failed, but this is a chance to learn and rethink. If I would have pushed too hard to complete this task it could have meant consequences in other parts of my life. Now I reevaluate and set new tasks to reach mine goals.
So what was your latest failure, and what did you learn?
Here is one inspirational speech from JK Rowling on the topic.
